Following news this weekend that an exploit on phones like the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II could allow malicious apps access to user data and other inner workings of the devices, Samsung has confirmed that the vulnerability is real. In a statement released to Android Central , the company says "is aware of the potential security issue related to the Exynos processor and plans to provide a software update to address it as quickly as possible." It is suspected that all phones running Samsung code on Exynos 4210 and 4412 processors are vulnerable — meaning that LTE-equipped versions of the Galaxy S III in the US are safe from the exploit.
