Next year, 1987's RoboCop will return — only as you might have heard, the half-man half-robot hero will be tackling modern anxieties over drone warfare. io9 caught up with RoboCop reboot director Jose Padilha to talk about how and why, and came back with an intriguing interview about how the cyborg will be a drone with a conscience. "There's a law in the future that forbids drones from puling the trigger. This drone manufacturer is losing a lot of money. And they circumvent the law by putting a man in the machine," says Padilha, explaining the plot.
