Thomas Middleditch is the lead nerd on HBO's Silicon Valley, and I also discovered tonight that he's also a leading nerd in real life. Right now the inventor of the fictional app Pied Piper is laying siege to his enemies with hordes of Nordic warriors in Total War: Atilla. He's also talking to himself and giving his units voices.
I haven't figured out yet if Middleditch is in character, but it's one of the best Twitch streams I've watched all day. If you feel like subscribing, he's donating the proceeds to charity.
