SPROUL RE-SIGNED

The Detroit Red Wings on Friday re-signed defenseman Ryan Sproul to a two-year contract. Sproul turned in a career year during the 2015-16 season with the Griffins.

SEEING CLEARY

The Griffins on Friday signed veteran forward Daniel Cleary to a one-year contract. During his first season with the Griffins in 2015-16 and first in the American Hockey League since 1999-00, Cleary played in 35 games for Grand Rapids and contributed 15 points (3-12—15).

GRIFFINS SIGN LOUIS-MARC AUBRY AND CONOR ALLEN

The Griffins have signed forward Louis-Marc Aubry and defenseman Conor Allen to one-year contracts. Aubry enjoyed a breakout year with the Griffins in 2015-16 by setting career highs in points (12-17—29), goals (12), assists (17), penalty minutes (87) and games played (75). Allen produced 14 points (3-11—14) and 68 penalty minutes during the 2015-16 regular season in a combined 66 games between the Milwaukee Admirals, Binghamton Senators and Iowa Wild.

The Griffins will gear up for the 2016-17 American Hockey League campaign by playing one preseason game, on the road against the Chicago Wolves on Friday, Oct. 7.
