Tyler Bertuzzi’s hat trick and three-point nights by Andreas Athanasiou and Ryan Sproul powered the Griffins to a 6-1 win over the Lake Erie Monsters on Saturday in Game 5 at Quicken Loans Arena, cutting the Monsters’ series lead to 3-2 with their second straight victory. The Griffins will now host Game 6 on Monday at 7 p.m. at Van Andel Arena, where they are 6-0 when facing elimination since the start of their Calder Cup run in 2013.
