YouTube iOS app now available for iPad, adds AirPlay and support for iPhone 5 display

Three months after releasing a standalone YouTube iPhone app, Google has brought it to Apple's iPad. The latest version of YouTube for iOS also includes another long-awaited feature: support for the iPhone 5's 4-inch display. Videos will now fill the entire screen on the latest iPhone and iPod touch hardware.


AirPlay streaming is another new addition, letting users beam videos to a nearby Apple TV. That device already includes a built-in YouTube app, though expanding that functionality should prove convenient for those looking to share a video on an HDTV or other large screen. Google rounds out the update with some other small but appreciable improvements: users can now add and remove videos from playlists, click links to other videos...
