4K TVs are by no means price competitive with today's most popular 1080p sets, but things are at least moving in the right direction. Sharp has announced that its 70-inch Aquos Ultra HD LED TV will go on sale at US retailers in mid-August at an MSRP of $7,999.99. Compare that to the 2.6 million yen ($31,000) ICC Purios announced at CES — with a smaller 60-inch display, even — and it's clear we're seeing a favorable trend for consumers.
