Will the ailing Ain't It Cool News have a second act?

In 1996, film obsessive Harry Knowles launched Ain't It Cool News, a site that helped define internet culture while Knowles himself was partially paralyzed and largely unable to leave the house. Years later, the site has gone from being a rebellious upstart to struggling for relevance among the competitors that have followed its lead, and Knowles is fighting diabetes and financial woes. But as The Hollywood Reporter writes in its profile of Knowles and his life's work, he's planning a comeback — and along the way, he's gained the respect of the film community and weathered threats from Steve Jobs, a failed attempt to adapt John Carter of Mars, and the difficulty of striking a balance between fandom and journalistic integrity.
