Google has just updated Chrome for Android, and along with some responsiveness tweaks and a new version of the V8 JavaScript engine it adds one new feature that should prove quite useful: background audio support. If you're listening to audio from within Chrome and switch to another app, the audio will continue to play — a nice touch that's been available on the iOS version of Safari for some time now, but makes Chrome an even more full-featured app. The update also adds support for pausing Chrome audio when a phone call comes in. The new update is available now in the Play Store.
