Double Fine follows 'Broken Age' Kickstarter success with strategy game 'Massive Chalice'

With Broken Age — formerly known as Double Fine Adventure — Double Fine had one of the first big gaming hits on Kickstarter, raising more than $3.3 million after aiming for just $400,000. Now the studio is returning to the crowdfunding platform with Massive Chalice, a turn-based strategy game for Windows, Mac, and Linux. This time Double Fine has set its sights a little bit higher with a funding goal of $750,000. According to the studio, the title is inspired by classic strategy games like X-COM, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Fire Emblem, and will take place in a fantasy realm and span multiple generations. It will also include permanent death, as heroes will die both in battle and of old age.
