Gogo's in-flight Wi-Fi begins major international expansion with Japan Airlines


Gogo's in-flight Wi-Fi is coming to Japan Airlines' entire domestic fleet, marking the service's first major expansion outside of the United States. The first of Japan Airlines' 77 domestic aircraft should begin offering Gogo's Wi-Fi next summer. The Wi-Fi will operate over Gogo's Ku band satellite connections, which it's been building up over the past couple of years for the very purpose of servicing international flights. Using those connections, Delta is also set to begin offering Wi-Fi on international flights this year, though the service isn't available just yet. Even so, Gogo has been focused on expanding internationally, and — if Gogo can find the partners — what we're seeing now should be just the beginning for that...
