Google's newest tablet — the Nexus 9 — is now available for purchase through the Play Store alongside the company's Apple TV competitor, the Nexus Player. The HTC-made tablet runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and is immediately available in "Indigo Black" or "Lunar White" with two configurations: 16GB for $399 and 32GB for $479 in Wi-Fi-only flavor. (An LTE-enabled 32GB model retailing at $599 is still unavailable, as is the "Sand" color option.) The Nexus 9 features an 8.9-inch QVGA screen (2048 x 1536), front-facing stereo speaker, nine hours of claimed battery life, and does it all with a 64-bit processor. Orders placed today will ship in 1-2 business days.
