You can't control holograms just yet, but you can start manipulate light right now using Dreipuls' Area lamp. The lamp is set up to allow users to "grab" and "pull" light from one side of its long, horizontal surface to the other. It uses a built-in sensor to detect when a person places their fingers beneath its glowing row of LEDs, and immediately activates or deactivates individual lights when it senses a finger. From there, the lamp will turn additional lights on and off as someone slides their fingers beneath them, though the lighting doesn't have to remain consecutive — you can light up just a corner, or illuminate discrete spots all across its nearly two-foot wide surface.
