Back in September Apple announced that the App Store had hit 700,000 apps — and little more than a month later, Google can claim the same. As first reported by Bloomberg Businessweek, Google recently hit the number, a significant uptick since it reached 600,000 apps and games back in June. Android's growth in app selection has been constant and swift — though the platform does still suffer from a dearth of tablet-specific applications. That's something the company hopes the new Nexus 10 will rectify. Whether that will come to pass remains to be seen, but one thing is for certain — developer interest in Android won't be slowing anytime soon.
