Samsung announces the Galaxy Premier, a downgraded Galaxy S III for Eastern markets

Samsung’s strategy of releasing a smartphone for every nook and cranny of the market may be irksome to most onlookers, but if nothing else it makes good business sense. The latest entry from the Korean manufacturer, the Galaxy Premier, employs the famous visage of the Galaxy S III, but pairs it with mid-range specifications for the European and Asian markets. The handset employs a 4.65-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, a dual-core OMAP 4470 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 1GB of RAM, and an 8-megapixel camera. Just like Samsung’s other recent devices, the Premier features TouchWiz 4.0 on top of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, with 3G and LTE variants of the phone both promised.
