If you live in an area likely to be affected by Hurricane Sandy’s high winds and flooding, Google is providing a crisis map to help you prepare for the impact. As mentioned by Engadget , the map provides separate layers for the most important information, ranging from the storm’s current position and three-day forecast to a river flood outlook, storm surge probabilities, and the locations of evacuation routes and emergency shelters. If you prefer, many of the separate layers can be downloaded as .kmz files for use with Google Earth as well. Earlier this weekend, Google canceled Monday’s highly-anticipated Android event after the city of New York included the waterfront venue in its evacuation zone.
