The Detroit Red Wings on Thursday assigned center Stephen Weiss to the Griffins for conditioning and reassigned goaltender Jared Coreau from the Griffins to the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye. In addition, Grand Rapids recalled defenseman Scott Czarnowczan from Toledo and signed goaltender Jeff Lerg to a professional tryout.
